2 - The number of broken ribs Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook has been diagnosed with. Those highly-drafted fantasy players are just not paying off this season, leaving the door wide open in all leagues. Westbrook's prognosis isn't clear just yet, but a running back with cracked ribs isn't going to have an easy time taking a hit in this league.
334 - Passing yards for Week Five's top quarterback. Know who it is? It's Kyle Orton. Let me repeat: it's Kyle Orton. He doesn't attract attention like Sexy Rexy, but he's getting the job done for the Chicago Bears, who at 3-2 find themselves atop the NFC North.
98 - The number of receiving yards separating the #1 receiver in the NFL from #2. Greg Jennings is the top receiver in yardage so far this season. Granted Week Five was his weakest performance, four grabs for 87 yards, but he did score his third touchdown. Big-play man he is, and he's averaging 19.6 yards per reception.
20.5 - Speaking of average yards per reception, San Diego's Chris Chambers ranks second in that category with 20.5 yards per catch. Thing is, he's only snagged 11 balls this season, and five of them have gone for touchdowns.e
269 - All-purpose yards for Reggie Bush on Monday night. Bush is finally having that breakout season, and it should be no surprise that he's doing it when fantasy competitors out there were just about ready to give up on him. Bush rushed the ball 12 times for 29 yards, had 7 receptions for another 69, but most notably, he returned 5 punts for 176 yards, two of which went for scores. That's right. Look out, Devin Hester. Reggie Bush has three punt returns for touchdowns this young season and could be eyeing your records.
543, 6 vs. 514, 4 - Rushing yards and touchdowns for Atlanta's Michael Turner compared to those of Washington's Clinton Portis. The two lead the NFL in rushing. It should also be noted that neither running back has fumbled the pigskin yet.
36, 110, 5 - Rushing attempts, total yards, and touchdowns for Arizona running back Tim Hightower. Talk about bang for your buck. The Cardinals have been relying on the broad shoulders of Hightower on the goal line, and it's been paying off big time. He had two more scores in Week Five. If he hasn't been noticed in your league yet, he will be now.
12-2 - Combined record of the top three teams in the NFC East. The reigning Super Bowl Champion New York Giants are 4-0, while the Redskins and Cowboys are both 4-1. Toss in a very tough 2-3 Eagles team, and you have one stacked division. In total the division is 14-5. Compare that to the NFC North and NFC West, which are both 6-12, and it's pretty clear where the strength in the NFC rests.
0 - Number of points the Kansas City Chiefs posted against the Carolina defense Sunday. The Chiefs had a serious letdown following their upset win over Denver last weekend, resulting in the NFL's first shutout of the season. Carolina held the Chiefs to just 127 total offensive yards, 35 by ground and 92 in the air. Larry Johnson, who had 198 yards last week, carried the ball 7 times for just 2 yards.
8:18 - That's how much time was left in the fourth quarter Sunday when Steve Slaton scored his second touchdown, effectively putting the Texans up 27-10 over the Colts. It was their first game at home following Hurricane Ike, but the emotional energy fizzled. The Colts scored three touchdowns in a 2:10 span to pull off a dramatic 31-27 win.
9.0 - Yards-per-carry average this season for rookie running back Felix Jones. No one is even close to that number. Next best is the Giants' Derrick Ward, who is averaging 6.6 yards per carry. Jones hasn't gotten double-digit carries yet this season in a single game, but he's a game-breaker and can go the distance anytime he touches the ball.
