23 - Months in prison that Michael Vick was sentenced to Monday afternoon. Remember when those commercials aired featuring the "Michael Vick Experience" as the roller coaster ride came swooping in with shoulder harnesses and all. Well, just use your imagination now to see how the ride ends.
3 - The number of times Kurt Warner was sacked by Seattle's Patrick Kerney, as well as the number of times he was intercepted by Marcus Trufant, who by the way took one pick to the house. All in all, Warner threw five picks in the NFC West divisional matchup Sunday.
9 - Number of games this weekend decided by at least 20 points. In a parity-ridden league, it was simply blowout week in the NFL. Most games were over by the time the fourth quarter started if not by halftime.
10-5 - Record for Kyle Orton as a starter for the Chicago Bears in 2005. Oh, and by the way, that was his rookie season. He was replaced with a healthy Rex Grossman at the end of the year for the playoffs, and he has only seen field time once since then. Well, with Grossman out with a knee injury and Brian Griese just not emerging as the answer, Lovie Smith and the Bears are going to give the Purdue Boilermaker and third-string QB another shot starting this week against Minnesota.
4 vs. 5 - Consecutive wins by the streaking Minnesota Vikings compared to consecutive losses by the Detroit Lions, who are streaking in the opposite direction. Jon Kitna predicted a 10-win season for the Lions this year. Now at 6-7, finishing at .500 is a challenge. The Vikings, on the other hand, are one of the hot teams in the NFC - one that no one wants to face right now.
1 - David Garrard may only have 13 touchdown passes this season, but he's thrown just one pick in 274 pass attempts. Protecting the pigskin goes a long way in the NFL and the Jaguars 9-4 record shows it. He's got a big test in Pittsburgh this weekend. If Garrard can continue to protect the pigskin, Jacksonville will be a potential sleeper in the playoffs.
5 - Quarterbacks in Week 14 that threw four touchdown passes. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were both in on the action, but so were Matt Hasselbeck, Jay Cutler, and Trent Edwards. Hasselbeck is looking sharp as the Seahawks eye the playoffs once again with a limited running game. Cutler and Edwards won't be reliable sources for such big numbers, but they've got their teams' playoff hopes still alive.
138 - Receiving yards for this week's top pass catcher Jason Witten. Yes, the weekly honors belong to a tight end. Witten had a costly fumble in the game Sunday against Detroit, but he came up big time when it counted scoring that winning touchdown. All in all, he snagged 15 passes from Tony Romo.
109.8 - Average rushing yards per game during the past four games for Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant. In a spot that seemed like it needed to be filled with an open tryout session, the undrafted Grant has emerged as a more than capable running back. He's sitting with 744 rushing yards this season, so pending on how the Packers play things down the stretch as they eye the playoffs, he's got a solid shot to break 1,000 yards his rookie season.
6 - Wide receivers with double-digit touchdowns. The happy and reborn Randy Moss leads the pack with 19. Fellow happy bad boy Terrell Owens is second with 14. Then you have two breakout seasons in Braylon Edwards with 13 and Greg Jennings with 11. T.J. Houshmandzadeh also has 11, and Plaxico Burress now has 10. Antonio Gates, Dallas Clark, and Reggie Wayne are right there, as well, each currently with 9 TDs.
