There’s been some speculation that both Larry Johnson and Marvin Harrison might be done for the season.
According to what the Chiefs have said, LJ has a crack in his foot and remains week-to-week. In reality, the injury will likely keep the fantasy superstar sidelined for more like 4-6 weeks – and if K.C. was cautious, the remainder of the year. Priest Holmes will continue to take on the brunt of the Chiefs' ground game in his absence. He scored 51 total TDs in 2002 and 2003, so don’t be surprised if you see some more fireworks in the next few weeks from the Meanwhile, reports have been leaking out of Indianapolis that Harrison will be out for at least the next two weeks, and potentially another month. That news bodes well for Reggie Wayne, Aaron Morehead and Dallas Clark in the Colts dynamic pass attack.
The Weekly Forecast will break down the injury report to help you make those difficult final lineup decisions. Let’s get started…
Quarterbacks
David Garrard, Rex Grossman, Tarvaris Jackson, Daunte Culpepper, Kyle Boller and Matt Schaub are all expected to return to their starting jobs this week, while Byron Leftwich and David Carr could as well.
Boller goes against the weak Browns defense this week after starter Steve McNair faltered mightily in the position the past couple weeks. Cleveland has surrendered 273 yards per game, ranking No. 31 vs the pass. They’ve given up 22 passing TDs, an NFL-worst. That said, Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton and the career-backup Boller are decent options this week. … Daunte Culpepper, who hasn’t started the past two weeks, also has a very favorable matchup against the weak Vikings secondary, who ranks dead last vs the pass – allowing 286 yards per game. Jerry Porter and Ronald Curry will also benefit from the matchup.
Injury List
David Carr (concussion) – cleared to play, might back up Testaverde though
David Garrard (ankle) – expected to start, Quinn Gray will be backup
Brian Griese (shoulder) – probable, Rex Grossman will start
Tarvaris Jackson (concussion) – expected to start, Brooks Bollinger will be backup
Byron Leftwich (ankle) – game-time decision, Joey Harrington would replace
Josh McCown (foot) – questionable, Daunte Culpepper or JaMarcus Russell will be backup
Steve McNair (shoulder) – out for Week 11, Kyle Boller will replace
Matt Schaub (hip, concussion) – will start Week 11
Alex Smith (arm) – expected to backup Trent Dilfer
Vinny Testaverde (Achilles’) – questionable, start unannounced still
Kurt Warner (elbow) – will start vs CIN
Running Backs
The Seahawks are expected to start Maurice Morris in the backfield again against the Bears. After racking up over 100 total yards and a TD on Monday Night Football, Morris is a decent RB2 this week. Although Shaun Alexander is still listed as questionable, he is not expected to suit up. If you were lucky enough to pick up MoMo, make sure you keep him in your active lineups. It sounds like it could the end of an era for Alexander the Great. He, like Priest Holmes, was a TD machine in his prime.
The Bucs backfield is banged up right now too; Earnest Graham hasn’t been able to make it through a full practice Friday and is listed as questionable. As is Michael Pittman, who missed the past month of action because of a leg injury … Rookies Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch will get their first DNPs of their careers this week, as Chester Taylor and Anthony Thomas will be in store for bigger roles. The ATrain only has 10 carries for a dozen yards on the season, but both veterans could see 20+ touches this week. Expect beautiful things from Taylor - he's averaging 5.0 yards per carry in a backup role and should shine in the next few weeks with A.D. sidelined.
Injury List
Shaun Alexander (knee, wrist) – questionable, not expected to play, Maurice Morris will replace
Chris Brown (ankle) – questionable, might not be activated
Michael Bush (leg) – taken off PUP, uncertain when he’ll be activated
Frank Gore (ankle) – probable, will start vs STL
Earnest Graham (ankle) – questionable, expected to play
Ahman Green (knee) – out, Ron Dayne and Adimchinobe Echemandu will compete for carries
Travis Henry (ribs) – game-time decision, Selvin Young would replace
Larry Johnson (foot) – out for Week 11, Priest Holmes will replace
Rudi Johnson (hamstring) – probable, will likely see brunt of carries over Kenny Watson
Marshawn Lynch (ankle) – doubtful, Anthony Thomas/Dwayne Wright will compete for carries
Willis McGahee (concussion) – probable, expected to start
Jerious Norwood (ankle) – probable, will be backup vs TB
Chris Perry (ankle) – off PUP list, uncertain when he’ll be activated
Adrian Peterson (knee) – out for Week 11, Chester Taylor will replace
Michael Pittman (leg) – expected to return in Week 11
Derrick Ward (ankle) – doubtful, Reuben Droughns will be backup/goal-line back
Brian Westbrook (knee) – questionable, expected to start
Ricky Williams (suspension) – likely out for the season
Wide Receivers
Andre Johnson, Deion Branch and Laveranues Coles will return to active duty this week, while Steve Smith could receive his DNP of the season.
The Seahawks are expected to start Branch and D.J. Hackett at wideout while veteran Bobby Engram returns to the slot position. Coach Mike Holmgren is expected to open up the passing game with all these weapons available. That bodes well for Matt Hasselbeck against the stingy Bears defense … Look for Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald to blow up this week against the awful Bengals defense. They have allowed 20 passing scores and 248 passing YPG.
Injury List
Deion Branch (foot) – questionable for 4:15pm start
Troy Brown (knee surgery) – return uncertain
Isaac Bruce (hamstring) – probable, likely will play

Eddie Kennison (hamstring) – will play this week
Ashley Lelie (quadriceps) – out for Week 11
Brandon Lloyd (shoulder) – out for the season
