38-0 - Score of the New England vs. Washington game when Bill Bellichick elected to leave Tom Brady on the field and go for it on a fourth and one situation on the Redskins seven-yard line. The Patriots went on to score twice more, winning 52-7, and rubbing it in something fierce. Brady now has 30 touchdowns and just one interception through just eight games.
6 - Quarterbacks this week that had a passer rating higher than 125. Believe it or not, but Tom Brady was sixth in passer rating this week. Drew Brees (136.8), Brett Favre (142.4), Derek Anderson (143.0), J.P. Losman (143.8), and Philip Rivers (143.9) all had better ratings than Brady. Losman only threw five passes, but it was good enough to lead Buffalo to victory, and though Rivers tossed just 11 passes, he completed seven, three of which went for touchdowns.
133 - Yards rushing for LenDale White in Week Eight. White didn't find the end zone, but he earned top rushing honors for the week. Few saw this one coming. Perhaps White is finally dismissing critics and their comments about gaining weight and eating too many donuts.
24.0 - Average yards per reception for Reggie Wayne on Sunday. Peyton Manning hooked up with Wayne seven times for a week-high 168 yards and one score. With Marvin Harrison out of the lineup, Manning will rely on Wayne a lot more, and so far he's stepping up big time.
10 - Receptions for tight end Jeff King of the Carolina Panthers. With Vinny Testaverde slinging the ball for the Panthers, there's a good chance he'll continue checking down to safe routes and hitting his tight end. This is particularly true against good, fast defenses like that of the Colts, and this weekend in Tennessee will be no exception.
410.1 - Yards per game the Cleveland Browns defense is giving up. That's dead last in the league, but the Browns are now 4-3. Browns fans are excited again about a possible run for the playoffs, but Cleveland better figure out how to plug some of those holes in their defense if they plan on playing this postseason.
32 - Times this season that Jon Kitna has been sacked. That's tops, or maybe I should say worst, in the NFL. Still the Lions have already beaten the Bears twice this season and are 5-2 through their first seven games.
331 vs. 88 - Points scored this season by the New England Patriots compared to the points scored by the San Francisco 49ers. Talk about two ends of the spectrum. The forecasts for big years from Alex Smith and Frank Gore have turned into dust. Still at 2-5, the 49ers are only two games out of first in the weak NFC West.
669 - Receiving yards this season for Braylon Edwards. In just his third season in the league Edwards is breaking out big time with Derek Anderson tossing him the pigskin. Edwards had 884 yards receiving last year and six scores. He's already got 9 scores this year, and is well on his way to a 1,000-yard season.
4 - Number of wide receivers with more touchdowns this season by air than running backs with scores via the ground. It's been the year of the pass. With injuries knocking out so many top backs, and offenses looking to their big receivers rather than their running backs in the red zone, we've seen a huge drop in touchdowns by running backs this season.
