Football Hotpage > Week Fifteen – What Do We Really Know?

Here we are all the way in week fifteen and there are so many things that we don’t know about the quarterbacks:
  • Who is a better quarterback – Manning or Brady? And is Brees better than both of them?
  • Why didn’t the Cowboys switch to Romo earlier in the season?
  • Is Brett Favre still good or not?
  • If Philip Rivers was drafted by the Steelers instead of the Chargers, would he be the quarterback of the defending Super Bowl champions?
  • Is David Garrard better than Byron Leftwich?
  • Is J.P. Losman the franchise quarterback for the Bills?
  • What would the Dolphins record be if Harrington started the season instead of Culpepper?
  • Is it worth blowing your chances for a playoff spot by switching from an inconsistent veteran (Jake Plummer) to an unknown commodity (Jay Cutler)?
  • Is Alex Smith any good?
  • Will Brady Quinn be playing for the Raiders or Lions in 2007?

Good luck to all this fantasy football season!

You have to be kidding me River's 13. He has had 2 bad games since Marty started letting him throw the ball - both in winning efforts. He had a bad quarter last week but still ended up with a stellar performance. Overall he is performing at a level that manning did not reach for 5 years. Overall he has won games when teams have stopped the run and has done everything that was needed to make his team the best in the NFL. If you ask most people this year who they would want it would be P. Manning, Brees, Romo or Rivers. I would take rivers (Manning as a close second) as they seem to have the most consistency in their throws.

I could see a rank anywhere in the top 5, but 13 - get off the drugs man!

Please remember when commenting on Rivers, that "these rankings are specific to the Week Fifteen match-ups." They have nothing to do with which quarterback a real NFL team would want in real life or which quarterback you would want for your fantasy team for the season. The purpose of the rankings are to evaluate which quarterback to use this week - Rivers or somebody else.

Rivers is certainly a Top Five QB in the National Football League, but certainly is not a Top Five Fantasy QB on a weekly basis. It is not so much because of his abilities, but more so the LT factor that prevents him from being a monster.

I have to decide this week between Rivers and Garcia to start in my playoffs. It really comes down to the fact that the Eagles throw for the majority of their TD's vs. the Chargers who run for their TD's...
