Week 12 featured a bunch of big performances from some pretty unlikely sources. We saw
Joey Harrington torch his former team for three touchdowns,
Vince Young rally the Titans back from a 21-0 hole and
Devery Henderson put up monster numbers in the absence of
Marques Colston. The Patriots proved to be too much for the Bears in a matchup of the league’s elite, LT2 continued his onslaught on the record books with three more touchdowns and injuries hit
Frank Gore and
Hines Ward. We’ll get you caught up on the waiver-wire possibilities and the latest on the injury report in this edition of
Chutes ‘N’ Ladders.

Young led the Titans back from the dead Sunday against the Giants. Down 21-0 with 10 minutes left, the rookie field general marched the Titans back for an improbable 24-21 comeback win. He rushed for his fourth score of the season while compiling career-highs in rushing (69) and in passing (249). The No. 3 selection is quietly 4-2 in his past six starts now. … Cardinals coach
Dennis Green basically said that they were going to abandon the run completely Sunday against the Vikings. Leinart put together a rookie record 405-yard passing game, but failed to find the end zone once. Stud receivers
Larry Fitzgerald (11, 172, 0) and
Anquan Boldin (9, 140, 1) are shined in the loss though. … Harrington enjoyed his homecoming to Detroit this Thanksgiving, throwing for three scores as the Fins topped the Lions in a holiday special. That’s quietly four straight wins for Miami, as they are just a couple games out of the playoff hunt now.

Zack Crockett, OAK seven rushes, 22 yards
Cedric Houston, NYJ 11 rushes, 13 yards, TD
Arlen Harris, DET eight rushes, 15 yards
Morris will step into the Dolphins starting running back spot after
Ronnie Brown broke his left hand last week. He filled in with 91 yards on just a dozen carries on Thursday, but is not a great option against the mighty Jacksonville run defense. … The Raiders nearly knocked of the Chargers this past weekend if it weren’t for two rushing- and one passing-TD

from
LaDainian Tomlinson. His counterpart,
Justin Fargas, finished with 32 yards on the ground. Despite the starting job, he’s not a great fantasy option -
ReShard Lee got the goal line carry with the one-yard TD plunge. …

Marty Booker, MIA seven rec, 115 yards, two TD

Marques Colston was unable to play this weekend, but his backups picked up their games in his absence. Henderson racked up an amazing 158 yards and a score on just four receptions, while Copper caught a spectacular last-second Hail Mary prayer to end the first half. … The Bengals offense spreads out the wealth to everybody. No. 3 receiver
Chris Henry had a pair of TD grabs and now already has six TD in just eight games. Ochocinco and Houshmandzadeh are
Carson Palmer’s primary two targets, but Henry is still a viable WR3 option. He’ll play on Thursday against Baltimore in week 13.
Tight EndsBo Scaife, TEN five rec, 34 yards, TD
Jermaine Wiggins, MIN six rec, 52 yards
Eric Johnson, SF three rec, 17 yards, TD
Stephen Alexander, DEN three rec, 19 yards, TD
Owen Daniels, HOU five rec, 34 yards
Randal Williams, OAK four rec, 29 yards
Major Offensive Injuries
Frank Gore continued his amazing season Sunday against the Rams, rushing for 134 yards and a TD before leaving in the fourth quarter with an injured right ankle. The malady was initially called a bruise, but he’ll undergo further testing.
Maurice Hicks is believed to have the slight edge on the backup duties should Gore be unable to suit up next week against New Orleans.
Bengals backup running back
Chris Perry broke a bone in his lower left leg and will need to have a screw inserted. He’ll miss the remainder of the season with the injury and finished the season with a disappointing 57 yards rushing in just six games.
Kenny Watson will serve as
Rudi Johnson’s backup.
Jeremy Shockey dislocated his ring finger during pre-game warm-ups against Tennessee, but didn’t miss any time. He managed five receptions for 39 yards in the debacle loss. …
Hines Ward left late in Sunday’s blowout loss to Baltimore after re-injuring his knee hyperextension that he sustained in week 11.
Santonio Holmes would be in for a larger workload if he’s limited next week.
