A.L. TWO-START STUDS
A.J. Burnett (Bos, @NYY) – For those of you who care about such
things, Burnett has won six starts in a row. I still think the Brewers should
have traded J.J. Hardy for him.
Felix Hernandez (Oak, @Cle) – Striking out none in his last start
was a definite anomaly, but I think it’s just one of those things.
Ervin Santana (Min, Tex)
– I wonder if we’ll ever find out what happened to Santana in 2007; regardless,
he’s back on the course he set for himself in 2006.
A.L. TWO-START SCRUBS
Daniel Cabrera (NYY, @TB) – Never!
Kenny Rogers (@KC, KC) – Is playing the Royals twice in a week
enough to get me to recommend the Roaster? Uh, no.
Kip Wells (Det, @Det) – Bad pitchers who play for bad teams and
face a good offense twice in a week are not pitchers you want on your team.
A.L. TWO-START WILDCARD
Kevin Slowey (@LAA, @Oak) – Was the 12-strikeout performance
significant beyond normal variance? Slowey will be an interesting guy to watch
next year.
N.L. TWO-START STUDS
Rich Harden (Was, Phi) – Pure dominance.
Ricky Nolasco (@Ari, NYM) – The New Nolasco.
Jake Peavy (Ari,
Col) – Last start was just a
blip, and he’s at home for both this week.
N.L. TWO-START SCRUBS
Kevin Correia (SD, @Cin) – If you’re going to be as bad as the
Giants, why not just go for it and be as bad as the Nationals/Padres/Mariners,
in an effort to perhaps land Stephen Strasburg?
Paul Maholm (Mil, @Mil) – I like Maholm, but not facing a hot
Brewers offense twice in a week.
Randy Wolf (@NYM, StL) – What a bizarre trade. Still not as weird
as the Matt Morris one last year, though.
N.L. TWO-START WILDCARD
Brett Myers (LAD, @ChC) – Is
Myers is finally good again?
