Breaking News: Looking at the standings to date, there are many teams that are still in the hunt. Boston has a half game game lead in the AL East over Tampa, Chicago is a half game ahead of Minnesota, and the Angels are 4.5 games ahead of Oakland. Teams like the Yankees, Tigers and Texas are a good streak away from contention. This could
lead to a very dry Trading Market this year in the AL. If the Indians stay in last place as they currently are, perhaps we could see C.C. Sabathia traded to a contender.
 
Injuries:

Shaun Marcum(SP TOR) - Went on the DL with a sore elbow, but will not need surgery.

Felix Hernandez(SP SEA) - After slamming Johan Santana, the King was slammed by Carlos Beltran at home plate and will miss his start this Sunday.

Geral Laird(C TEX) - Will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a hamstring injury.

Who's Hot:

1. David DeJesus(OF KC) - Hitting .312 with 8 HR's and 39 RBI's.

2. Brian Roberts(2B BAL) - No more Trade rumors to the Cubs, he has 21 SB's for the year.

3. Jose Guillen(OF KC) - Has 60 RBI's for the year.

Who's Not:

1. Gary Matthews(OF TEX) - Still struggling with a .244 BA.

2. Ryan Garko(1B CLE) - Must have caught the bug affecting all Cleveland hitters as his average stands at .251 for the year.

3. Nick Swisher(OF CHW) - Average is down again as he is hitting only .232. No wonder Ozzie Guillen has to vent.
