AL or Nothing > Week1

On to the roundup for the week...

Breaking News:

Hope you enjoyed those two early games this week from the Tokyo Dome. The big news to come out of this two game set between Boston and Oakland was the performance of Rich Harden in game two. Harden tossed 6 innings, gave up one run and struck out nine Sox. He is brittle, but I would grab him in any fantasy league and enjoy the ride even if it is only for 3 or 4 months.

The White Sox demoted Josh Fields leaving the 3B Job to Joe Crede.

The Rays also demoted top prospect Evan Longoria (more of a contract thing than performance), leaving Willy Aybar as the 3B for at least two months.

Injuries:

Kelvim Escobar (SP LAA) has a torn shoulder and could miss the rest of the season.

John Lackey (SP LAA) has a strained tricpers and will be out till Mid-May.

Eric Chavez (3B OAK) is out indefinitely with a bad back.

Scott Rolen (3B TOR) has a broken finger and will miss two weeks.

B.J. Ryan (RP TOR) is out till mid-April with a sore elbow...Yeah right, we are supposed to trust the Jays on this?

Josh Beckett (SP BOS) will be out till April 8th.

Curtis Granderson (OF DET) will be out till Mid-April.

Who's Hot:

Jered Weaver (SP LAA) went 5-0 this spring with a 1.37 ERA. He looks ready for a bounce back season.

Josh Hamilton (OF TEX) - Hitting .455 this spring with 3 HR's.

Gerald Laird (C TEX) - He will have full time duties at catcher this season with the demotion of Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

Ivan Rodriguez (C DET) - Pudge has 8 Dingers this spring, a truly amazing stat. He should have saved some for the regular season.

Who's Not:

Erik Bedard (SP SEA) - Has given up 9 dingers this spring. Think he is ready to leave Arizona?

Dontrelle Willis (SP DET) - Ends the spring with an 8.64 ERA..Ouch!

Got a fantasy question you would like answered in my column? Send it to me via
e-mail at mikek@creativesports.com. Until next week, I wish you the best of
luck.
