On to the roundup for the week...
We have come to the end of another Baseball Marathon. I hope you had a great season with your AL Fantasy Teams. As for the real world, it now is offical that Boston, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Angels have made the Playoffs. The New York Yankees should get a spot in the next few days as the Tigers are sinking fast. In fact, the Yankees may luck out and miss the Angels in the first round of the playoffs if the Indians finish with the best record. We could see a Yankees-Indians, Red Sox-Angels first round. If we do, I like the Yankees chances to advance. The Red Sox-Angels winner will provide a big obstacle for the Yankees reaching a World Series this year.
End of Season Awards - Stats as of 9/28
MVP - Alex Rodriguez. Hard to argue against 52 HR's, 147 RBI's, 138 Runs, 24 SB's and a .311 Average.
Cy Young - Josh Beckett. 20 game winner also had a 3.14 ERA with 188 K's.
Come Back Player - Carlos Pena. This guy had a total of 1 HR last season. He has now hit 42 with 116 RBI's.
Fireman Award - J.J. Putz. He dominated with 39 Saves and a 1.45 ERA.
Rookie of the Year - Delmon Young. He has played all season amassing a .293 BA with 13 HR's and 93 RBI. So, I give him the nod. If Josh Fields(3B CHW), had been called up earlier, he may have won this outright. Fields has 22 HR's and 65 RBI since being called up.
