AL or Nothing > Week 23

On to the roundup for the week...

The Cleveland Indians have surprisingly run away from the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central race. The Red Sox and Angels also have big leads, which means the only race left is for the AL Wild Card. Right now the Yankees lead the Mariners by 3 games after taking 2 out 3 games in the Bronx this week. Alex Rodriguez may have cemented away the AL MVP by blasting 2 dingers in the 7th inning last night. Joba Chamberlain got his first major league victory last night.

Injuries:

Eric Chavez - Out for the rest of the season with a torn labrum.

Garry Sheffield - Balky shoulder finally landed him on the 15 Day DL.

Roger Clemens - Will miss a start after getting a cortisone shot in his right elbow.

Who's Hot:

Carlos Pena - He is now at .278 with 37 HR's and 105 RBI's. He was probably a $1 dollar flier in most AL Drafts this year. Yours truly drafted him for a dollar, but when he was sent to the minors in week one, he was released. That about sums up my pitiful fantasy season to date.

Alex Rodriguez - Hitting .312 with 48 HR's, 134 RBI and 22 SB's. Can you spell MVP?

Joba Chamberlain - Now has tossed 14 innings this year, and has a 0.00 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP.

Who's Not:

Nick Swisher - Suffering a power outage this season, only has 17 HR's to date.

Eric Chavez - Another dissapointing A's hitter. Out for the season and finishes with only 15 HR's and 46 RBI.

Johan Santana - He is 14-11 on the year, which is a bit dissapointing for his owners.

Fantasy Studs for the Week(Last 7 Days):

Dustin Pedroia - Went 14-27, .519 BA.

Curtis Granderson - Hit .458 with 2 Dingers.

Alex Rodriguez - Slammed 4 HR's with 10 RBI.

Fantasy Duds for the Week(Last 7 Days):

Nelson Cruz - Went 1-16, .063 BA.

Jack Cust - Batted only .150 with 1 HR and 1 RBI.

Ryan Garko - Went 6-28, .214 BA.
