John-Paul 'JP' Kastner

JP Kastner has played Fantasy Baseball since 1985, mostly simulation games such as Strat-O-Matic.  Formally a senior technical information technology planer for Kaiser Permanente, JP retired in 2005 to become the primary caregiver for his two children.  JP met Lawr on a Southwest flight from to the Arizona Fall League.  After the flight landed, Lawr offered him a writing gig.  JP did not take up the offer.  The next year on another flight to the Arizona Fall League, Lawr again sat next to JP and asked him why he did take up the offer.  Surrendering to fate, JP started writing for Lawr that year.  He handles the servers, web design and customer relations.

JP's success in Strat-O-Matic is remarkable.  In the five years of the Strat-O-Matic Baseball Online Experts League, a league sponsored by The Sporting News, JP has had a winning season in all five years, made the playoffs in four, the World Series in three, and finally won the World Series in 2007.

He made his Tout Wars debut in 2006, playing in the mixed league.

JP and his wife, Jill, have two children, Julia, age 5, and Jacob, age 2.

Matt Lawrence

Matt has been involved in Fantasy sports since 1991 – back when you needed a stamp and a post office to submit your lineup. He got his start in the industry in 2001 with CBS.Sportsline.com and that's where his true passion for Fantasy began. Although he was responsible for covering baseball and football as well, Matt earned the title Senior Fantasy Basketball writer for the 2004-05 season. Six months of scrutinizing boxscores and rummaging through waiver wires, he knew he found his calling. Since leaving the position to be closer to his family in Connecticut, Matt has been writing for CREATiVESPORTS.com, Rotoworld.com and Auctionplayers.com. He's been involved in several experts leagues such as Mixed Nuts in baseball, SOFA IDP league for Football and is the defending champion in Sportsline's Fantasy Basketball Experts League. His work has also been published on Foxsports.com and several Fantasy magazines. He currently resides in Middletown, Connecticut.
